Public offers a vast array of unique and innovative private event spaces spanning multiple floors which include pre-function and outdoor areas, state-of-the technology and special menus by Jean-Georges Vongerichten. From light-filled 17th floor private event spaces with jaw-dropping views, to our progressive multi-media performance space. There is no business or social event too large or too small for our versatile spaces.
Space 1: Ava Sunrise Terrace

Space 2: Diego
As stylish and sophisticated as it is sexy, Diego, an intimate bar—with great food as well—is akin to a private gentleman’s club in London. It specializes in inspired cocktails by world-class, internationally-famed mixologists, an original menu by Jean-Georges, an eclectic, curated mix of world music, great art and even a fireplace. Come to this bar to drink, eat, have a conversation or just relax in the most comfortable and inviting environment—the next generation “bar/restaurant”.
Space 3: Public Arts
The first new idea since studio 54 forty years ago, a nighttime renaissance, and a cultural, social, event and party machine, public arts is a cutting-edge, progressive and avant-garde multi-media performance space like no other. A new dimension and home to adventurous artists, ideas and people, the space will offer the most innovative programming including everything from film screenings to musical performances, rotating art exhibitions to product launches, open mic night to comedy night, as well as late night hot sweaty dancing!
Space 4: Public Kitchen and Bowery Garden
The hotel’s restaurant by renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, is driven by the market and the seasons, and inspired by Jean-Georges’ travels worldwide. The menu focuses on sustainable seafood, organic poultry and grass fed meats, as well as using the freshest organic green market fruits and vegetables. Chef Jean-Georges’ signature style and flavors appear in all dishes throughout the menu. It features a smoker, wood-burning oven and wood burning grill as a focal point and has a menu for all tastes and diets, including vegan. The food and energetic setting compliments the feel of the hotel. If you’re a group of 6 or more, take advantage of public kitchen’s 4-course tasting menu, available on Fridays and Saturdays.
Bowery garden, which is adjacent to public kitchen, is an expansive outdoor terrace inspired by tuileries garden in Paris and the gardens of Italy. Upon entering, you feel as if you have been transported right to Europe. Perfectly enveloped by an English ivy privacy fence, it is an ideal spot for al fresco dining, late night drinks or a special private event.

Space 7: The Roof
The roof is a vibrant and energetic bar, that appears to be floating in the sky, with jaw dropping 360-degree panoramic views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows and a spectacular outdoor terrace offering the best views of New York City. It’s an ideal place to meet for sunset cocktails, while after dark, it transforms into a very sexy late-night hotspot, hosting the best local and international dj’s from around the world. The large outdoor landscaped terrace during the day features communal tables and lounge areas to work, unwind or just take in the sun.
